TSC addresses reports of discontinuing teacher deployment process
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has dismissed a circular doing the rounds on social media claiming the commission has terminated the teacher deployment process.
In a statement on Thursday, September 10, TSC flagged the circular as fake and misleading.
“The Teachers Service Commission has come to the attention of the above circulating circular on deployment of teachers.
“Please note that the information is not only misleading but fake,” read the statement in part.
The commission urged teachers and members of the public to disregard the fake circular.
TSC also urged the public to rely only on communication shared through the commission’s official social media channels.
“We urge the public to disregard the circular and to always rely on our official communication channels (TSC KENYA on Facebook and @TSC_KE on X) for accurate information,” TSC added.

Contrary to the claims in the fake circular, TSC has maintained that the deployment of primary school teachers to Junior Secondary Schools has not been stopped.
The exercise remains part of the commission’s efforts to address staffing gaps in Junior Secondary Schools across the country.
In May 2026, the commission had already relaxed entry requirements, lowering the minimum threshold to a KCSE mean grade of C plain for primary teachers holding secondary-option degrees.
TSC has also introduced a fresh mass deployment strategy that prioritizes moving existing JSS teachers upward into Senior School roles under the new Grade 10 transition framework taking shape nationally.
The commission further confirmed that recruitment and promotions for Junior Secondary School positions remain government-funded and are proceeding as planned for the affected teachers.
TSC urged Kenyans to rely only on its verified communication channels for updates and warned the public against believing or sharing the fake circular.
