UoN releases verified list of graduands, warns against fake post

The University of Nairobi has warned the public against relying on a misleading Facebook post circulating online about graduands who took part in its 75th Graduation Ceremony.

In an update on Saturday, September 19, the University said the Facebook post makes false or misleading claims about the names of graduands for the graduation ceremony held on Friday, September 18.

According to the university, the official 75th Graduation Booklet contains the verified list of graduands who were cleared for the ceremony.

The institution urged graduands, parents, guardians and members of the public to confirm graduation information through its official communication channels before sharing or relying on posts circulating on social media.

The University of Nairobi specifically cautioned the public against using the Facebook post as a source of verification, noting that the official list should be used when checking whether a particular name appeared among the graduands.

Members of the public seeking to verify the names of graduands from the September 18 ceremony have been directed to the official University of Nairobi 75th Graduation Booklet at https://uonbi.ac.ke/node/5592

“Always check the official University of Nairobi communication channels for accurate graduation information,” the university said.
