UDA Homa Bay Chairperson attacked as official vehicle is burnt by goons
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Homa Bay Town Constituency chairperson, Franklin Oluoch, is counting losses after he was reportedly attacked by a group of goons on Saturday night.
Oluoch reportedly came under attack in Homa Bay Town, although the circumstances surrounding the incident remained unclear.
During the incident, a vehicle belonging to the UDA official was also set ablaze, with the motive behind the attack yet to be established.
Footage shows thick smoke engulfing the streets of Homa Bay town on Saturday night as the vehicle went up in flames.
Later, firefighters are seen trying to put out the fire that had completely damaged the vehicle.
The incident has raised concerns among local political supporters, coming at a time when political activities and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 General Election are gaining momentum.

The police had not yet issued a statement revealing the circumstances surrounding the incident, with investigations expected to intensify.
Homa Bay County and Homa Bay town in particular have been under public scrutiny in recent times following a rise in political violence.
On August 16, during the Linda Mwananchi rally in the area, several vehicles were torched and damaged, with at least four people dead and several others injured after a confrontation between two rival factions.
The police have intensified investigations into the matter, pledging to bring all those linked to the violence to book.
As the country heads towards the 2027 General Elections, the police are also intensifying vigilance to ensure political gatherings remain peaceful, despite increased attacks by hired goons often linked to the government.
At the same time, police said they would submit to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) the names of politicians found to have actively participated in the attacks, potentially barring them from contesting elective positions in future elections.
