Patna is the capital of Bihar, a state in eastern India, located about 1,000 kilometres from Mumbai.
According to reports from India, the Kenyan was among three women rescued during raids at two hotels in the area.
Police confiscated copies of the Kenyan woman’s passport to verify her details after rescuing her from the first hotel.

Two hotel managers were arrested during the operation, according to The Times of India.
The Kenyan woman was placed in protective custody as investigations into the alleged racket continued, according to reports from India.
Authorities said diplomatic and consular protocols would be followed as investigators expanded their inquiry into the hotels and their records.
The rescue comes amid concerns over the trafficking of Kenyan women to Asia, with some victims reportedly being lured by fake overseas job advertisements posted online, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Reports indicate that traffickers sometimes take victims to India using short-term tourist or medical visas. Kenyan authorities have previously warned about fraudulent overseas job offers used to lure people into trafficking networks.
