Sifuna unveils The Equitable Party for his 2027 presidential bid

Nairobi Senator and Linda Mwananchi Movement (LMM) leader Edwin Sifuna has been handed The Equitable Party (TEP) as the political vehicle for his 2027 presidential bid.

In an event held in Nairobi on Sunday, October 4, Sifuna formally unveiled the political vehicle as he seeks to consolidate his presidential bid ahead of the 2027 polls.

According to TEP party Leader Gilbert Marava, Sifuna will be the party’s leader and will run for the presidency on TEP’s ticket.

“On our end, we have decided to restructure, and in the process, those who registered will stay, and we will bring in our brothers,” Marava stated.

“Sifuna is going to run for president, and he will be the next leader of The Equittable Party (TEP),” he added.

TEP was officially registered as a political party in March 2022, with its head office located along  Mtito Andei Road, off Lenana Road, Nairobi.

Its colours include gold and emerald with a symbol of a weighing scale, which aligns with the party’s ideological focus on fairness, equality, and social justice.

The party uses Tusawazishe, a Swahili slogan which translates to let us make it equal or let’s balance.

The Equitable Party will be among the parties under the Linda Mwnanchi Movement coalition of parties.
