Why Uhuru Kenyatta skipped Raila's anniversary celebrations
Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musoka claimed that former President Uhuru Kenyatta skipped the late Raila Odinga’s first anniversary because his team warned him of possible security threats.
Speaking on Monday, October 19, Kalonzo said that Uhuru had sent a team earlier to monitor the situation before he could attend the anniversary.
However, when they raised questions about the security at the event, and the subsequent hurling of stones at the VIP tent, the team advised Uhuru not to attend.
“What happened at Migwena? A shameful scene, which I think is what informed the Fourth President, Uhuru Kenyatta, not to show up.
“He had sent his advance team, and it was clear that the place was infiltrated with bad faith contrary to what Mama Ida and the family would have wanted to see,” Kalonzo said.
The Ukombozi Alliance Leader claimed that the politicians’ lives were at risk, but expressed gratitude to the mourners for dealing with the goons who hurled stones.

He asked the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, and the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Amin Mohamed to bring the perpetrators and their financiers to book.
“Please go behind the five who were paraded. Follow the money and the vehicles if you dare to do so. Arrest the financiers, not just the men holding the weapons, because for them, they are trying to earn a living and they get misused,” Kalonzo reiterated.
The Wiper Leader maintained that the ‘journey to Canaan’ which he began with the late Raila would go on as planned and would hopefully be realised in 2027.
He likened President William Ruto to the Biblical character Pharaoh, who was trying to stop Kenyans from crossing the ‘Red Sea’.
“Pharaoh, who is the leader of a predatory nation, will drown as he tries to cross the Red Sea, which is the Kenyan democratic space, on August 10, 2027,” the former Vice President stated.
