UDA Governor Fatuma Achani loses father
Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani has lost her father, Mzee Mohamed Achani.
Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya confirmed the death of Mzee Achani in a statement on Monday, October 19.
CS Mvurya also extended his condolences to the Kwale Governor and her family following the loss.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to H.E. Fatuma Achani, Governor of Kwale County, and her entire family following the passing of her beloved father, the late Mzee Mohamed Achani.
“During this difficult moment of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with the Governor, her family, relatives, friends and the people of Kwale County as they mourn the loss of their beloved patriarch,” said Mvurya.

The Sports CS prayed for the late Mzee Achani, asking Allah to grant him eternal rest and give the family strength and comfort as they come to terms with their loss.
“May Allah (SWT), in His infinite mercy, forgive his shortcomings, grant him Jannatul Firdaus, and bestow upon the bereaved family strength, patience and comfort,” he added.
Further, CS Mvurya said the late Mzee Achani will be laid to rest on Monday afternoon in Bodo, Ramisi, Kwale County.
“The late Mzee Mohamed Achani will be laid to rest today, Monday, 19th October 2026, at 4:00 PM in Bodo, Ramisi, Kwale County,” he stated.
