Francis Atwoli wants Uhuru Kenyatta arrested
COTU-Kenya Secretary General Francis Atwoli has demanded former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s arrest for violating his presidential oath.
Speaking in Khwisero on Tuesday, September 29, Atwoli claimed that Uhuru violated his oath of secrecy by disclosing classified information that could undermine the country’s security.
The request followed Uhuru’s claim that former ODM Leader, the late Raila Odinga, won the 2022 Presidential Election, but was denied his victory.
“Now that is outside government; he knows how Raila was rigged out of the election. How could Raila’s votes have been stolen yet he was the President and Commander in Chief?
“The law on leadership states that if you were a leader and took an oath to keep all government secrets, and if you retire, you will not speak about them. Uhuru should be arrested for breaking the oath,” the COTU-K boss stated.

Atwoli further demanded that the former President give a detailed explanation of how Raila’s votes were stolen, and what steps he took as the president at the time to intervene or even try to stop it.
Uhuru’s revelation sparked mixed reactions. ODM Leader Oburu Oginga questioned why he handed over power to Ruto if he truly believed that Raila won the 2022 polls.
The former Head of State was called out for reopening old wounds and being ‘a little too late’ while at it.
For his part, Ruto threw an indirect jab at his former boss. He said that leaders should not go about spewing reckless statements, especially if they were under the influence of alcohol.
The Jubilee Party responded to Ruto, stating that he lacked the moral grounds to lecture and castigate other leaders for improper decorum and reckless utterances.
