Government announces master’s scholarships in the UK; How to apply

The Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), has announced 19 fully funded Master’s scholarships in the United Kingdom (UK).  

In a public notice on Tuesday, August 25, the Ministry said the scholarships will be available in 2027 at any approved university in the UK that hosts CSC awardees. 

The Ministry noted that CSC will conduct the final selection of successful candidates for the scholarship program. 

“The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in the United Kingdom (UK) invites the Ministry of Education to nominate Nineteen (19) Kenyan citizens for consideration for full Master’s scholarships award tenable in 2027. Final selection will be made by the CSC, and the awards are tenable at any approved United Kingdom University that hosts CSC awardees,” read the notice.

The Ministry urged interested applicants to visit its official website www.education.go.ke under the scholarships section for detailed information on applying for the scholarships. 

The online application portal for the scholarships will open on September 8, 2026, and close on October 20, 2026, at 7:00 PM. 

Applicants are required to submit their applications to the Ministry of Education by October 22, 2026, at 5:00 P.M. 

“The online application opens on 8th September, 2026 and closes on 20th October, 2026 (16:00 GMT).

“Applications should be submitted to the Ministry of Education on or before 22nd October, 2026 at 5.00 pm,” the notice added.
