Kalonzo offers Aisha Jumwa deputy party leader position in Wiper

On Friday, August 14, Wiper Patrioritic Front Leader Kalonzo Musyoka offered former Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa the Deputy Leadership position in his party.

Speaking in Malindi, Kalonzo stated that Jumwa was more than qualified to hold top party leadership, given her experience in politics as a Member of Parliament and Woman Representative.

He pleaded with the village elders to allow him to make her one of his deputies, adding that once they gave their go-ahead, he would formally make the announcement at the Wiper Headquarters in Nairobi.

Kalonzo further promised Jumwa a direct party ticket if she decided to run for Kilifi County Governor.

“I will not abandon Aisha, but for her to become governor, she must be given ‘wings to fly’. I propose that she becomes a Wiper Deputy Party Leader, a position that no other party has ever offered her

“I am ready to give her the Wiper Patriotic Front because I can tell that she will be Kilifi’s next governor,” the former Vice President reiterated.

He stated that he would allow Jumwa time to consult before accepting the offer. If approved, Jumwa will join Nyali Member of Parliament Mohamed Ali alias Moha Jicho Pevu.

On her part, Jumwa thanked Kalonzo for proposing her to be his Deputy.

She explained that she would not form a new party but would join an existing party such as Wiper in her quest to run for Governor.

Meanwhile, Kalonzo hit out at President William Ruto for attacking Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta over the alleged funding of Linda Mwananchi and other political opponents.

He intimated that he asked Uhuru to allow him to deal with Ruto, and asked the President to address him instead of his predecessor.

“I asked Uhuru to let me deal with Ruto because I don’t want him to engage in any mudslinging. To you, Ruto, you are like my younger brother; instead of blaming Uhuru, blame me,” he stated.

The Wiper Leader told the Head of State that his loss in the 2027 General Election was inevitable; a matter of when, not if.
