KUCCPS issues update on delayed university transfer letters ahead of Sep admission

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Placement Service (KUCCPS) has issued an update to students who have yet to receive their transfer letters after applying to change their university or college placements.

According to the placement agency, the processing of the transfer is still ongoing, assuring affected students that the letters will be generated once the process is complete.

“The processing of the transfer letters is ongoing. The letter will be generated automatically for download by the applicant through the student portal as soon as it is ready,” KUCCPS  said in response to an affected student.

Students were therefore advised to regularly check their portal to confirm whether their transfer request was successful, as the letters will be sent directly through the student portal.

Once generated, applicants will be able to download the letters and wait for reporting day and report to their new institution.

KUCCPS update comes amid growing concerns over the delay in the release of the letters, given that universities will start admitting new students in a few days.

Due to this, several students have raised concerns over the delays in issuing the letters, prompting the agency to respond.

The concerns come days after the lapse of the KUCCPS inter-university transfer timeline that was set on August 14.

The timeline was for students who were not satisfied with the institutions they were placed in, as the agency gave them a lifeline to choose their preferred institutions.

However, with the admission dates approaching, the delays have forced students to seek clarification from the placement body.

For instance, students who were placed at the University of Nairobi (UoN) will start reporting from August 24, according to a notice from the university.

However, several other universities are also expected to admit students in the late days of August and the first week of September, according to the Ministry of Education calendar.
