ODM Youth Leader Elvis Otieno dies after fatal Epileptic attack in Mombasa
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party is in mourning after Youth League leader and Technical University of Mombasa student Elvis Otieno died after a sudden attack on Sunday.
Also known as ‘The Beast’, Elvis died in Mombasa, with reports linking his death to an epileptic attack that triggered his fall, a condition that he has had for the longest time.
The tragic incident occurred just a day after he had spent time with friends at English Point in Nyali, watching the FIFA World Cup final together.
His death has since been confirmed by the ODM party, describing him as an instrumental pillar of the youth facet of the party.
“We are saddened by the news of the passing of Mr Elvis Otieno, aka The BEAST, a member of the ODM Youth League’s Comrades Chapter and a former student leader at the Technical University of Mombasa, which occurred yesterday in Mombasa,” ODM stated.
Adding, “The BEAST, as he was popularly known, was outgoing, cheerful and a good mobiliser who dedicated his life to championing the rights of the youth.”
His passing was also confirmed by the Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, who described him as a dedicated and inspiring young leader.
“I am deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Elvis, a passionate youth leader, dedicated community mobiliser and a close friend whose commitment to empowering young people inspired many who knew him,” PS Omollo stated.

Otieno was a former student leader at the Technical University of Mombasa, where he first built a reputation as an outgoing and passionate youth mobiliser.
He later rose through the ranks of the ODM Youth League, becoming an active member of its Comrades Chapter and a familiar face within Mombasa’s political circles.
Beyond politics, Elvis was widely known for organising youth forums that brought together young people for dialogue, mentorship, and civic engagement.
Among his notable initiatives was the Kenya Youth Transition Initiative, a platform that earned him recognition as a respected voice among the youth.
Members of the ODM Party, fans, friends, and family alike have extended their condolences to his family.
