Moja Expressway, the company managing the Nairobi Expressway, has announced three vacancies for the position of Toll Attendant, inviting qualified candidates to apply before September 5, 2026.
According to the job listing, a Toll Attendant will be responsible for collecting toll fees from motorists, providing customer assistance and ensuring smooth and efficient traffic flow at toll plazas.
The role requires excellent customer service skills, accuracy in cash handling and the ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Duties will include collecting toll payments through cash, credit and debit cards and electronic payments, issuing receipts and correct change, and verifying electronic toll passes while resolving any payment discrepancies.
Successful candidates will also be required to maintain accurate transaction records, reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift, and provide directions and basic travel information to motorists.
Toll attendants will further be expected to report equipment malfunctions, traffic incidents or suspicious activities to their supervisors, ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations, and maintain cleanliness and organisation within the toll booth area.
On qualifications, the company is seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, Diploma or an equivalent professional qualification from a recognised and accredited institution.
Professional work experience in computers and accounting is preferred, alongside basic IT skills and previous experience in customer service, cashiering or cash handling.
Applicants will also need basic maths skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate computerised toll systems and point-of-sale equipment, in addition to strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The role demands flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays, as well as the physical ability to stand or sit for extended periods and work in different weather conditions.
The listing further specifies that applicants should be aged between 20 and 35 years old.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field, 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, and practical knowledge of KRA iTax and Kenyan tax law. Experience in infrastructure, construction, transport, roads, energy, PPP or engineering sectors is desirable, along with Excel proficiency, ERP/accounting systems experience, and progress toward or completion of CPA(K), ACCA or an equivalent qualification.
Fluent English is required, and knowledge of Chinese is listed as an advantage but not mandatory.
