Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development Principal Secretary Susan Mang’eni has accused Kenya’s Ambassador to Uganda Ababu Namwamba of masterminding the chaos witnessed during a UDA event in Budalangi, Busia County.

Speaking on Monday, August 31, PS Mang’eni alleged that Ambassador Namwamba had deployed goons to disrupt a sensitisation programme in the area.

She sensationally claimed that his actions not only undermined her, but also President William Ruto and the UDA party.

Mang’eni reaffirmed that she would continue to support President Ruto, no matter the obstacles she faces.

“You are unable to restore dignity, but let me tell you, I will spread President William Ruto’s message even if it means me dying today, because I know that is what Namwamba wants.

“I know for sure that Ababu Namwamba is not for the President because if he was, he would not be scattering a meeting that is meant to amplify what the President is doing on the ground. He cannot be sponsoring goons,” she stated.

The PS demanded that police arrest those responsible for disrupting her meeting. She maintained that her team had followed due process to notify police about the planned event.

Earlier, a rowdy group of youths had stormed the event’s location and prevented the organisers from setting up tents and a sound system at the location.

Police lobbed tear gas to disperse the suspected goons and restore calm. The PS was whisked back to her vehicle by her security detail as the crowd had begun hurling stones indiscriminately.

The incident came barely days after PS Mang’eni was forced to clarify an incident where students of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) were captured on camera chanting Wantam’ during her speech,

Mang’eni deemed the incident at Masinde Muliro University a big joke. She noted that the ‘Wantam’ narrative is built on a loose ground of propaganda and lies, and vowed that the truth would soon counter it.
