In a statement issued on Saturday, August 15, Khalwale confirmed that his wife passed on after she suffered a heart attack this morning.

Khalwale and the late Gloria had eight children together.

“My dear wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, has this morning suddenly collapsed and died after a heart attack.

“She is the mother of Engine Kukaste Khalwale. Olivia Sabayi Khalwale, Flavia Shimuli Khalwale, Gift Atubukha Khalwale, Meliza Khamwenyi Khalwale, Velma Nasiebanda Khalwale, Sonia Inuni Khalwale, and Maura Makatse Khalwale,” the Kakamega Senator announced.

Boni Khalwale announced that his wife Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale collapsed and died of a heart attack on Saturday morning Gloria was the mother of eight children and Khalwale’s second wife to die under strikingly similar circumstances.

Khalwale’s first wife, Adelaide Shikanga, also collapsed and died on a Saturday morning, in October 2019.

His first wife, Adelaide Shikanga, died on Saturday morning, October 5, 2019, under strikingly similar circumstances, collapsing at their Malinya home in Ikolomani sub-county.

Speaking at Mukumu Mission Hospital mortuary, where Shikanga’s body was moved, Khalwale revealed that she had fallen in the bathroom and was found unconscious by a house help.

He attempted to resuscitate her himself. “Immediately she collapsed, she called our house help who went and found her unconscious. I attempted to resuscitate my wife who gasped her last breath in my hands,” Khalwale said at the time.

Shikanga had battled cervical cancer since 2003 and had further been diagnosed with blood cancer, undergoing six rounds of chemotherapy at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Khalwale said she had developed pulmonary hypertension the day before she died.
