TSC calls on teachers to update beneficiary records on Superannuation Fund; How to update

Teachers under the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) have been urged to update their beneficiary records with the Public Service Superannuation Fund (PSSF) to safeguard access to their retirement and other benefits.

The call comes as TSC counts down to World Teachers’ Day 2026, with the commission also encouraging teachers to create digital access to their PSSF accounts to view pension statements and other account information.

PSSF has outlined the steps members should follow when updating their records, including beneficiary details.

Members are required to have a PDF copy of both sides of their National Identity card ready before beginning the process.

They should also have the relevant details of their beneficiaries, including birth certificate numbers for children and identification and telephone numbers for adult beneficiaries.

To begin the process, members should access the main menu on the PSSF platform, located at the top left corner and represented by three horizontal lines.

They should then select the option to update the member enrolment form.

According to PSSF, any changes made through the form will be reflected once the employer, TSC, approves the updated form.

Members are also required to update their beneficiary form and indicate the percentage share allocated to each beneficiary.

For members with minor beneficiaries, PSSF says a guardian will be required.

The guardian will serve as a point of contact for expenses paid by the PSSF Trust Fund in relation to the minor beneficiaries.

The fund’s reminder is aimed at ensuring members’ records remain accurate and that their nominated beneficiaries are properly captured.

TSC, in a message to teachers ahead of World Teachers’ Day on October 5, thanked PSSF for its partnership and support towards empowering teachers and linked the updating of records to securing their financial future and welfare beyond the classroom.

Teachers can also create digital access to their PSSF accounts to view pension statements and other information by signing up through the fund’s registration portal: PSSF digital registration portal.

After registration, members can use the same credentials to sign in and access their account information.

The records update comes as teachers prepare to mark World Teachers’ Day 2026, providing an opportunity for members to review their pension information and ensure their beneficiary details are up to date.
