UDA denies reports it disowned MP Ntutu over alleged Gachagua alliance
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has dismissed a viral statement claiming the party had disowned Narok South MP Kitilai Ole Ntutu over reports linking him to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 8, UDA said the notice circulating on social media was fake and intended to mislead the public.
“Beware of fake statements and fabricated posts being circulated online using the UDA Party name and branding to mislead the public,” the statement read.
The party urged Kenyans to verify information through its official communication channels before sharing it online.
Further, UDA called on its members and supporters to ignore the claims and help prevent the spread of misinformation.
“We urge members, supporters, and the public to disregard this fake post and help stop the spread of misinformation,” the statement added.
The fake notice claimed the ruling party could no longer accommodate Ntutu following reports linking him to the Wamunyoro movement.

It also alleged that UDA had resolved to protect its unity and values by distancing itself from the Narok South legislator.
The party, however, said the statement did not originate from its official communication channels.
The clarification comes amid claims circulating online that Ntutu had aligned himself with Gachagua’s Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), with the former Deputy President welcoming the realignment.
Ntutu, who has been openly aligned with UDA, refuted claims that he shifted his political allegiance, dismissing them as fake news and terming them propaganda.
The party’s response comes as political factions continue to clash ahead of the 2027 General Election, with increased engagement between rival camps online.
