Super Metro breaks silence over claims it ferried goons to disrupt Gachagua’s Kirinyaga event
Super Metro has broken its silence after being accused by Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina of using its fleet to transport goons intent on disrupting former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s event in Kirinyaga on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
In a statement shared on its social media handles on Monday, August 24, 2026, the transport company distanced itself from the allegations, clarifying that the buses spotted in Kirinyaga were carrying secondary school boys and girls who were headed for a hike at Kathandeni Forest in Gichugu Constituency.
Super Metro said the youths had no connection to political activities, amid earlier claims that the buses had been used to ferry individuals brought in to cause havoc at Gachagua’s meetings.
“The AIC Church Ziwani Nairobi has clarified that the buses spotted in Kirinyaga were carrying secondary school boys and girls who were heading for a hike at Kathandeni Forest in Gichugu constituency. The youths had no connection to political activities amid earlier claims that the buses were carrying people brought in to cause havoc at Rigathi Gachagua’s meetings.”
The clarification came after claims that the buses were part of a group allegedly deployed to disrupt the former Deputy President’s engagements in Kirinyaga.

Super Metro’s statement therefore sought to clarify that its buses were transporting students for a school outing and were not involved in the political activities surrounding Gachagua’s event.
The alarm was raised by Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina on Sunday, August 23, 2026, who questioned the presence of three Super Metro buses carrying passengers who appeared to be joyful and making chants.
The Kirinyaga Woman Representative further accused the government of being behind the plot, directly warning Super Metro over the buses.
In a post directed at the transport company, she said:
“Super Metro!!! I see you have transported Kasongo’s goons to Kirinyaga to wreak havoc at Riggy G’s meetings. As we legally come for the local organisers and facilitators, we shall also hold you legally culpable for aiding and abetting any violence that happens at any of the meetings today!!”
The remarks came after she raised the alarm over the presence of three Super Metro buses carrying passengers who appeared to have been brought to the area, amid concerns over possible disruptions to Gachagua’s meetings.
